LOL yup it's all gone. First I had to cut bangs. Then I had to cut mod bangs. Then I had to get layers. Then I had to go shoulder length. And I still wasn't happy. haha I almost did the Amber Rose cut but I don't like Caesars as much as mohawks!

Thanks so much for the explanation! I really appreciate it. I was discussing this with a friend of mine whose hair texture has changed considerably over the course of a few years. Although she's natural and hasn't used any chemicals, she uses heat regularly (weekly or sometimes bi-weekly pressing), so it makes sense. Have a great weekend!

Hi Vermelha! I really enjoy your articles and am looking forward to the next installment, but NOOOO pressure! I'm sure you're busy with school and everything.
Could you just answer one question for now? What do you think about the idea of "heat training" hair? I don't think the word choice is completely appropriate, but I've been hearing it quite a bit lately. Do you think when naturals use heat consistently over a long time, their curls become loser and their texture can change by a letter (i.e. 4B to 4A or 3C to 3B) or more? Thanks much!!

Thanks Vermelha, I have been working hard to have my hair look, feel and act healthy (working progress). I had my hair down for about 10 days and I feel naked without protecting my end,s especially now. My hair is now touching my collar, so I need to protect them. How are things with you? My job got outsourced earlier this month. So, I 've on-line putting in applications for jobs and doing career assessment and trying to work on a budget b/c of pay decrease. So, that why you have'nt seen much of me on BHP. Take care I'll be talking with you later!

I like long hair, but I don't want it to be long in it's straight form only. I want to achieve long curly hair. So I'm doing another challenge. Perhaps after this, I will have met all of my straight hair goals.

I am currently a natural SL unstretched/Past APL stretched.

I want to achieve APL unstretched, which may or may not be WL stretched.

I think I'll focus on getting my naturally curly hair to a longer length and not worry about straightening it. I honestly...

I'm a curly girl in search of the perfect product that is creamy, defines and moisturizes curls.

I know lots of ladies use Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercreme, which has gotten the rave for years, but also gets a bad rep.

They get a bad rep because of their product ingredients. Most curly girls I know aim for something more organic. And when I saw mineral oil, I turned my nose and looked the other way. That and the $58 for it made it that much worse.

I then went...
