After years of hair care, I have come up with a final regime. I have tried everything: washing daily, washing weekly, washing biweekly, co-washing, organic shampoos and washing twice a day.
Now, I am convinced that I know the best regime for my hair.
Wash 1-2x per week
I do this because my hair and scalp are both dry. I must maintain a healthy amount of oil on the scalp for my scalp to stay lubricated and for my hair to grow long and strong.

Hair growth is a relative concept. Hair is always growing but whether the rate is at its maximum depends upon daily habits.
Hair growth is not just dependent upon preventing breakage, it is highly dependent upon the condition of the scalp as well. Your hair growth depends on how you treat your scalp. This is why some can wash their hair daily and achieve lots of growth, while others can wash their hair every two weeks and achieve the same growth.

Keeping in moisture is vital for healthy hair. Whether you moisturize daily or moisturize after every wash, finding a reliable source of moisture is one of the first steps towards healthier hair.
I don't like "moisturizers" per se, but I do like products that contain glycerin, a compound that, with water, can keep moisture in the hair. However, glycerin is a tricky compound, as moisture can also leave the hair in humid areas.

In response to my straightened hair regime, I also have a curly hair regime, depending on the type of curl or look I want to achieve.
Looser, defined curl:
1. Section wet hair into four.
2. Apply a generous amount of conditioner or creamy leave-in to each section and brush through with a Denman.
3. Braid each section, twirling ends.
4. Put on scarf or stocking cap. Airdry overnight.
5. Remove braids in morning (do not touch curls) and style as desired....
