I think Its dandruff my mom has it really bad and I used to have the great pleasure of greasing her scalp, but I never had dandruff until I moved here to Atlanta. I'm from California and I never had dandruff before. I guess I make a trip to the beauty supply today or Wal-Mart to get some tea tree oil.

I don't shampoo because I have no idea which shampoo my hair would benefit from most. I co-wash with V05. I only use the vitamin e after I co-wash my hair then I apply Aloe-Gel to my hair then go.

Is it really dandruff or just itchy flaky scalp? If you have an applicator bottle, fill it with an organic oil like olive, coconut (virgin is best), or almond, invest in tea tree or clove and peppermint essential oil and add 2-3 drops but no more than 5. Essential oils should not in any way feel or resemble oil and are very potent. Also, experimenting with the combination of other scents of the essential oils may be a good idea. Tea tree and clove oils can be mix with others to soften their scents if they are not to your liking.

That's how I deal with itchy scalp besides not using a sulfate shampoo too often and employing conditioners for co-washing.

Hey I've been on my natural journey for 6mths now and I'm very committed. The thing that is making me conflicted is the "BIG CHOP", I'm not sure how long I should wait before I go in for the cut. Or what styles will work best for me once I do chop my hair off. Also I'm not sure if it would be best to go and see a professional for the chop or can I be thrifty and do it myself. What products will my hair benefit from best without breaking my pockets, although I care about my hair deeply...
