Why is moisture so important, especially in ladies with 3-4 hair types? Hair that lacks moisture will be dry and prone to breakage. You don't want that, right? Okay, so if your hair is dry - step up your moisture regimen. Increasing moisture is especially important to me right now because it's cold in my neck of the woods. I want to bounce back from my 'setback' and make it to full BSL by the end of the January. I have a ways to go, but it's always good to have goals. Hopefully I will make it or at least by almost there.

If you hair is already really really dry and you want to fix it, aside from soaking it in water - start by deep conditioning once a week. Use a conditioner that is specifically for deep conditioning, and leave it on for at least 20 minutes. I try to do my long hair care days when I have nothing going on and I can DC for a least an hour. Also you should use a moisturizer daily, I have been using Nexxus Humectress Luxe and Ojon Revitalizing Mist. I alternate between the two depending on how I'm feeling that day. I prefer to use a spray moisturizer, especially when my hair is not straight because I feel as though they work better for me than creams do. However, I will not turn down a cream based moisturizer, instead I just hold on to it for really dry days. Sometimes a cream actually works better on my nape area than a spray, as that area tends to be super dry and prone to breakage. Finally, it's important to seal in the moisture that you have just applied. I use coconut oil or some other mixture I've whipped up as a sealant. That's it, bringing back moisture is easier than you might think, it's sticking to your regimen at all times that's the hard part.
