While I Was Washing, My Hair Never Felt So Silky In My Whole Entire Life. The Left Side Of My Hair Is Kind Of Brittle Looking (It Has Thickened Up) & It Has Gotten Stronger & Longer. So After That, I Conditioned For 15 Min. So After That I Blow Dryed My Hair, I Blow Dry My Hair On Low W/ The Heat Setting & Wen My Hair Is 85% Dry I Put It On High W/ The Cool Setting....I Grease My Hair. Then I Flat-Iron.
The Beginning/The Start Over!

November 14th 2009 is the new beginning of my hair journey, the reason being is I had a baby in August 2009 and my last relaxer was December 12th 2009.

Almost a year since that creamy crack touch this scalp, in all honest there are few on this forum that are trying to keep me away from my beloved but I am just not ready yet.

Anyways with this new beginning I have learnd alot since my hair journey from June 2008, so with all that I have learned and research ans still learning I might had, I intend to fully incorporate this in growing my hair out long and maintaining a healthy head of hair.

I am planning on texalaxing Decemeber 31st 2009, and I say TEXALXING as I apply oils/preservo to my hair prior to apllying the relaxer and I also do not let the relaxer stay on the my no more than 10mins if that long, i just want my curls to be loose enough to comb and style nicely :D

Anyways as of today I will be keeping a log of what I do on a regular basis to my hair along with updated pictures hopefully with every entry.

Tonight I did a ayurvedic treatment I use 1/2 bottle of coconut oil and mix in shikakai and amla powder and thoroughly stir well.

I then apply from root to the tip of my hair, I then rinse well with very warm water until the water was clear and then a co-wash twice to remove any further residue that may remain in my hair.

Afterwards I mixed in some castor in a contain with my ORS replenishing conditioner and part small sections of my hair and apply the conditioner, I am now sitting under my dry with a plastic cap on for approximately 35mins, I will then rinse thoroughly and slightly dry my hair and apply castor to my roots and ORS Incredible Rich Moisturizing Lotion from root to tip and then I will do plaits/three strand twist out and then dry slightly under the dryer and will loose them out tomorrow to see results.

I will then post pics to show my results lward have mercy I hope they turn out really well. :(

Watch the space!

So today is month 1 of my hair journey...im so very excited!!! So here's the update....the length of my hair has grown about an inch...i cant really tell because i havent flat ironed (with andis flat iron) my hair at the roots since my last wash...my roots are horrible...i am going to take pics & post them in an album on this site when i wash my hair this sunday....as far as the products that i use are the optimum care line, the anti-breakage therapy shampoo & conditioner....i use it to rebuild my hair strength because i do get my hair relaxed (as you can see) using the Mizani hair relaxer (i relax 8-12 weeks)....since i relax my hair every 8-12 weeks...i typically get 4-6 washes & my hair has recooped & it is ready to be relaxed & i wont have any afterwards....i do grease my scalp (yes i said grease, obviously it works) with softee indian hair hemp every monday & thursday...i do have a method on which i apply the indian hair hemp so it isnt clogging up my hair pores or anything because my hair is growing like crazy...Thats pretty much it about the products i use on my hair...like i said i will post pics of my flat ironed hair on sunday so you can see my hair growth...thank you so much for reading:)

Espresso Henna Mixture & Instructions

Disclaimer: follow this mixture and instruction at your own risk. I will not be liable for any occurances following this procedure.

This henna mixture is best for those who want to tone down the redness of the natural henna dye while the coffee extract promotes a longer hair life cycle when applied to the scalp for a long period of time.

_Best used for:_
Acidifying/Reducing pH/Sealing Cuticles/Reducing Hair Loss/Strengthening/Darkest Brown Color

_Ingredients:_
200g Henna (I use Reshma, but Jamila is great too)
16 oz. hot Coffee, double strength
2-3 tbsp of Grade A Honey

_Tools:_
Mixing Spoon
Plastic Bowl with Lid
Cellophane Wrap
Shampoo
Conditioner
Hair Sectioning Clips
Plastic or Latex Gloves
Newspaper or Paper Towels (for clean-up)

_Mixing:_
1. Pour henna in a plastic bowl.
2. Slowly add hot coffee.
3. Stir until a thick soufflé paste (or thick pudding) is made.
4. Seal with lid and set in a warm location.
5. Allow dye to release for one hour (optional).

_Hair Prep: While dye is releasing_
Wash hair with a sulfate or high pH shampoo, removing all oils from hair and scalp. Do not towel-dry. Do not condition.

_Application:_
6. Add honey, stir thoroughly.
7. Section wet hair with clips.
8. Put on gloves and apply henna slowly in sections to prevent flinging henna.
9. Smoosh henna through hair in a thick, muddy coating. Be sure to cover both top and underneath section and from roots to ends for the most complete application.
10. Repeat on all sections until complete.
11. Wrap hair with cellophane wrap, snugly.
12. Allow to process for two hours or overnight.

_Removal:_
13. Remove the cellophane and rinse hair under warm shower water.
14. Massage with hands until all the "mud" is loosened up.
15. Apply conditioner and massage (or comb through).
16. Repeat until all the henna is gone (this will take a few times).
17. Wash with shampoo or cleanser, focusing on the scalp.
18. Done!
