Jheri Growth

I posted this as a reply a while ago and it got me thinking
All I can say is TLC... look after your hair like you do your skin.
Try not to use cheap products, if they are make sure they dont have "bad" ingredients in them.
Before I didnt realise, that you can have a problem with growth, or a problem with retention
(I believe I had both)
But I say this in nearly every post I type.... only because its what I learnt works with me.... MOISTURE is very important.
Thinking back, when I was younger and had a jheri curl (much younger) my hair seemed to grow quicker (but the salon people used to always keep cutting)
I have come to the conclusion that it was all in the curl activator (some do swear by S-curl)
Among other things it had water and glycerine in it. Great for moisturising, and therefor you dont get much/ any breakage from dry hair, because after spraying daily (and keeping a shower cap on while I got ready to get the curls curling) my hair was locing the moisture!
SO in my book, glycerine and water = moisture = growth/ retention
So there than the spary in activator what else was I using? ah ha!!! the gel...I bought myself a tub of gel activator, and will start using it again... I think its pretty much water and glecerine, but in the form that I can just rub it into my hair. we'll see how that goes ... oh i love to ramble
but we'll see if it works out.... I do feel like I have neglected my hair on the moisture front. I went to the bss on saturday, and bought 2 different protein treatments, 1 for after relaxer, and one for, all the other times (im trying to cut down my relaxers per year, so if I wait for the relaxing time, it will be a while until my hair can benefit.)
We'll see if/ how I progress armed with protein treatments, co-washing and a tube of curl activator!!!!
