Corn Rows & Alopecia

A African college student braided my hair when I was stationed in Germany. Se was talented, but it was so tight you could see my hair folicles.

This was bad considering I was already suffering from traction and.or chemical alopecia.

This is my weak big chop. It wasn't so big. I was too chicken to cut it all off so I left a few inches.

I had to leave enough hair for this fake puff..

These braids...

Transitioning

My last relaxer was 3 July 2004. I had a beautiful head of long relaxed hair (see my photo album). I made the decision to go natural because my temples were very thin and the top of my head was thinning also. I did not want to go bald, so I decided to go natural. This was the best deccision for me.
My relaxed hair and my natural hair were such opposits that my hair began to break where the two textures...

Jheri Growth

I posted this as a reply a while ago and it got me thinking
[quote=Dividir;4487]All I can say is TLC... look after your hair like you do your skin.

Try not to use cheap products, if they are make sure they dont have "bad" ingredients in them.

Before I didnt realise, that you can have a problem with growth, or a problem with retention

(I believe I had both)

But I say this in nearly every post I type.... only because its what I learnt...

Strengthening my relax hair

Posted 08-17-2008 at 12:04 PM by lightje
Hi,

I'm new to this blog but do have a question. After a decade of wearing my hair natural, I decided to relax my hair again. After much research, I decided to go with a Mizzani perm, for color-treated hair. I must say that I did have some breakage prior to relaxing and still do (fortunately, no more than I had pior to relaxing). What can I do to minimize this hair breakage and to strengthen my relaxed hair?

Oh, I must say, that I do have some color (Naturtint (no ammonia))...
