When I lost my edges due to a bad stretching techniques and then relaxing, shame on me, i used castor oil. That stuff brought my hair back and made it stronger.

Honestly IDK why I even started doing it when I did. I'm glad God told me to b/c I know I didn't get that idea on my own. LOL!! I do it regularly now, and it helps tremendously on relaxer day so that I keep my edges.

Ditto on the castor oil. I have a bald spot that would not grow for anything. I started massaging castor oil in it every night and the hair started growing.

I don't know about castor oil, but cayenne pepper mixed with paprika, veggie oil, and a little water (mix into a paste), works for me. I have two bald spots on both sides of my head. I put it on for 30mins to an hour. Yes, it does tingle, but I've been doing it for a while, and I have some growth. It works for me. I can't wait to get back to it, as I have had braids for almost a month and am not able to do it.

I used castor oil and sulfur oil when a part of my hair broke off after a horrible salon experience. My hair is almost at the same length as the rest of my hair.

I agree with castor oil and scalp massages to stimulate the blood flow to that area. I have spots on my temples I'm still working on to bring back to life.

What brand did you use? Did you use the regular laxative kind or a kind from the BSS? How often did you apply it? Just asking some questions to figure out if castor oil is one of those things that works for some, but not for all.

I think they both are laxatives. Heck, I would think if you ingested anything that tasted as bad as either of those, your body would be quick to expel them, lol! :D

Castor oil or coconut oil, massaging your scalp is key. I repeat, massaging your scalp is KEY. Especially where the affected area is concerned.

I agree completely. Castor oil is great, but I believe it is the massage that really stimulates growth. I have been very lazy about rubbing castor oil into my bald spot for the past two weeks. However, when I am in the car with DH and we are just talking on our way home or something, I will sit there and massage my bald spot with NO oil, and guess what...the hair is still filling in like crazy!!!! Who knew? But I still think castor oil is great though, it makes the hair nice and thick and healthy.

I use a balanced mix of castor oil, biotin, coconut oil and sulfur oil/sulfur 8 (I mix these with my sulfur 8, but you can do as you please)
